Leslie Joseph Thompson, He was the oldest son of the late Rose and Walter Thompson.And the loving Brother of Rita, Jean and Peter. He married Maureen [Sally] and they had 4 children, Leslie, Mandy, Michael and Sallyann, He is also a loving Grandad and Brother. He started work at the age of 14 and ended up as a docker working in hull docks. On the 24th april 1984 he was diagnosed with cancer and died that evening. He is loved and so sadly missed. I'm Free!
I'm Free! Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His
hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh,
to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy of a friendship, shares, a laugh, a
kiss, and yet these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the
sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full,I savored much. Good friends, good times,a loved one's
touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,don't lengthen it now with undue grief, lift up your
heart and share with me God wants me now. He set me Free!

AS I LAY DOWN IN SLUMBER,MY EYES GROW HEAVY AND DIM,SLOWLY THE DARKNESS SURROUNDS ME, I FIND MYSELF PRAYING TO HIM.LORD,PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND HIM,LEAD ME THROUGH YOUR GREAT LAND,TO WHERE I CAN FIND MY LOVED ONE,THEN SLOWLY HE HELD MY HAND. The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
